We open at 10 AM and the first 175 people through the doors will receive the Limited Edition Northern Pin Set (this set was much sought after during the Olympics). View the Yukon Permanent Art Collection in Vancouver

Canada’s Northern House features cultural treasures from across the North, including original works of Yukon art on loan from the Yukon Permanent Art Collection. The work of nine Yukon artists are being rotated throughout the House: Ted Harrison, Jim Robb, Jackie Ziehe, Jim Logan, Ann Smith, Allen Edzerza, Eileen Sembsmoen, Eugene Alfred and Tom Dickson.

Your Daily Inuksuk

Richmond has hosted an unprecedented collection of visual arts work from all three territories, including the Visions of the North visual arts tent near the O Zone Main Stage and the Sewing Our Traditions doll exhibit at the Gateway Theatre. And here’s yet another reason to go to Richmond: you’ve got to see the Container Inuksuk built by the City of Richmond in a vacant lot at the intersection of Gilbert Road and Elmbridge Way.

It’s Brendan Green Day at Canada’s Northern House!

Join us at Canada’s Northern House between 11am and 1pm to celebrate and cheer on northern biathlete Brendan Green. A resident of Hay River, NWT, Brendan is competing at Whistler in the Mens 4 x 7.5 km biathlon. Everyone is invited to come to Canada’s Northern House, Lower Level to watch coverage of the biathlon relay, which starts at 11:30 am.

Catch Northern Talent While You Can

As the Games wind down and Canada’s North performers return home North of Sixty, these final few days will be the last chance to see many talented acts that are rarely seen outside of the North. From Inuit drumming and throat singing to raucous fiddling from Northwest Territories to extravagant costumes and exuberant performances by Yukon First Nation dancers, to been a cultural extravaganza.
